For those who have heard it, the cry of the banshee is an unforgettable and haunting omen of death described as a long howl or scream. For those who have not heard it, the anticipation of and notion of the sound is present in their mind’s ear. The Banshee (3:17) is a video + sound piece which portrays an experimental collage video of footage from Newfoundland and Labrador’s woods and salmon fishing grounds accompanied by an underscore of sound composition and an auditory conceptualization of the banshee’s howl.
